Photos from Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing

Alex | July 6, 2009

Here are some images in (sort of) chronological order from the trip so far. We are nearly halfway though our journey and so far we have been to Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing. We were planning to go to Guilin today, but the flood alerts are changing our thinking. Not sure what we are doing now… in the meantime, please enjoy my photos (click on the thumbnails below for larger images):

Fantastic photo’s! Looks like Shanghai exhales monoxide. Really like the shot of the excavator, though for some reason at the moment I see Transformers everywhere. See what work in a projection room does to you!

The shots of the Shanghai cityscapes remind me of Thailand but with more smog and grime. It looks like it would be quite hot there. It was a top of about 8 degrees a couple of days back. The shot of the old man on the street is my favourite. Looks like a nice street and a nice old man.

Hope you’re well. Try not to get flooded.

Thanks Rob, glad you liked them. The old man on the street was a dude. I took that shot from a taxi. We have canceled the trip to Guilin. Probably will book a flight to Shangri La.

Ah, is that the Nanjing taxi line at the station on the bottom?

Where else? Its like hell, only hotter and smellier down there. The old hammer and sickle on the wall make it worth the trip though.
